2016 FOURSOMES KNOCKOUT WINNERS	2016 FOURSOMES KNOCKOUT FINALISTS

The final of the Foursomes Knockout took place on 15th September 2016 at Leamington & County Golf Club and was between Coventry Golf Club and Stratford on Avon Golf Club. After early morning fog the sun was shining by the time the match started. The Leamington course looked in very good condition following the recent rain. 

 

Stratford won the draw and decided to 'bat first' in each match.  The match between Jackie BELCHAMBERS & Charlotte ATKINSON against Annabel EDMONDS & Gill SAKER began the contest with Stratford leading most of the way. The Coventry pair were 3 down with 4 to play but due to some steady golf managed to half their match.

 

Second match was between Skye FURNACE & Paula WINWOOD and Lisa BARTON & Adelle MIDDLETON where again Stratford took the lead and eventually won the match 2 up leaving Stratford the first winners of the new WLCGA Foursomes Knockout Trophy.

 

County Captain praised both teams for reaching the final and congratulated them on a good match.  She thank Leamington for hosting the final and presenting the course in a fine condition.
