On a dry autumnal day, on Wednesday 21st September, the Joyce Nichol Competition was held at Kenilworth Golf Club. Although the conditions remained dry for all players, underfoot it was extremely wet, particularly in the rough due to heavy overnight dew. This resulted in playing conditions being quite difficult as the course was playing very long with ultimately the CSS coming out as reduction only.
Considerable help was given from the Kenilworth members during the day and they were thanked by the Warwickshire President, Jane DENNICK at the Prize Presentation. The Trophies for this competition are rather special and unique in that the winners of each division have their signatures engraved on to the copper salvers.
Although the scores weren't high, there was a great competitive spirit between the players to get to the winning post in this Singles Stableford format.
