YEN PHAM WINS TWO IN A ROW

Monday 18th September was the date of the 2017 Joyce Nichol Trophies competition, this year held at Olton Golf Club. Start time was 12.00 noon which was rather a shame as the morning weather had been dry and sunny!! As the afternoon wore on, it got wetter and wetter but the course at Olton held out well although playing very long after the amount of rain today and in the recent past. Definitely rough and bunkers were not places for the ball to land but can we all be that accurate?!!
These Trophies are rather unique and special in that they were originally donated by Joyce Nichol and each winner (Silver and Bronze) have their signatures engraved on to the copper salvers. Competition was good in this 18 hole Stableford format and the winning scores certainly were creditable considering the weather.
County Captain, Margaret SHEEPY at the Prize Presentation thanked Olton Golf Club for hosting the event and for all the help both prior to and during the day which certainly helped in making the day so successful.
