JOYCE NICHOL TROPHY WINNERS
With the venue being Coventry Golf Club, competing for the Joyce Nichol Trophies on Monday 17th September was set to be very enjoyable. Weather wise the day started on the cool side with lots of clouds following some early rain, but by late morning the skies cleared and it turned out to be a very warm and pleasant day for golf.
A two tee start had been agreed with the first players commencing at 12 noon. By the end of play, it was evident that many of the field had found it quite difficult out there, particularly the greens, as there were some challenging borrows! As usual though, the cream rises to the top and there were some excellent scores recorded in this Stableford format, Singles competition.
The Joyce Nichol Trophies are rather unique and special as they were originally donated by Joyce Nichol and each winner (Silver and Bronze) have theri signatures engraved on the copper salvers.

SILVER DIVISION
1st Jane MURPHY - 11 H/C - (Coventry Hearsall GC) - 38 points
2nd Jane ADAMS - 18 H/C - (Kenilworth GC) - 35 points
3rd Claire HOWELLS - 6 H/C - (Moor Hall GC) - 34 points
BRONZE DIVISION
1st June HABBERJAM - 24 H/C - (Coventry GC) - 37 points on Countback from
2nd Lucy CAMPBELL - 23 H/C - (Shirley GC) - 37 points
3rd Tracy JORDAN - 23 H/C - (Edgbaston GC) - 36 points
At the Prize Presentation, Coventry Lady Captain Judy HADFIELD gave a belated welcome to the assembled company and said how pleased Coventry GC were to host this event.
County President Caroline LASSEN responded by thanking Judy and Coventry GC for allowing the event to be held there, and to all the helpers who had contributed in making the event so successful.
Congratulations were given to all the Prize winners.
