In quite brilliant weather from start to finish, (how lucky we were for this major competition) 24 teams of 5 battled it out to become the Team Champions of 2012. Copt Heath Golf Club was the venue and there was a two Tee start, half the players playing in the morning and the other half in the afternoon. Once again, we were delighted to be sponsored by DUFERCO.
Early starters had very wet conditions underfoot, but by the second 9 it had dried out, particularly the greens. The course though was in excellent condition, but many found it quite difficult.
The golf flowed well with no major hold-ups with the prize presentation taking place at 6.30 p.m. It was great to see so many of the afternoon players staying after their rounds and indeed fantastic that many of the early starters had returned for the presentation.
Unusually - or at least for a few years now - the spoils went to MOOR HALL Golf Club, who won the Chipman Cup with a Gross score of 409 and The Daisy Hartill Cup with a Net score of 380.
As Moor Hall had won both prizes, they were only able to take the Gross Vouchers with the Net Vouchers being awarded to the Team from RUGBY Golf Club with a Net 388. Their team consisted of Susan JONES, Charlotte TAYLOR, Deb HARRAD, Judith PEGLER and Abigail MORTIMER-LANE.
Congratulations to the Moor Hall team, who made the County Captain, Bobbi Waugh extremely happy as she too is a member there!
