HEARSALL PAIR WIN 1st WINTER ALLIANCE of 2012/13

Unfortunately, in a continuation of the weather for 2012, the first Winter Alliance at Harborne Golf Club on Monday 12th November was very wet. 42 ladies from 21 Clubs once again showed their fortitude and battled against the rain. In spite of the weather the course held up well and was in excellent condition thanks to Course Manager Jim Gilcrest and his staff.
Winners on the day were:
1st: Janice EDWARDS & Katy SMITH from Coventry Hearsall G.C. with 33 points. (pictured on left with Harborne Lady Captain, Helen Palmer)
2nd: Pam HURLEY & Rita LAWSON from Shirley G.C with 30 points. (pictured on the right also with Helen Palmer)
Lady Captain Helen Palmer braved the weather and acted as starter for the ladies prior to welcoming the County Officials and presenting the prizes to the winners.
County President Elizabeth Earnshaw welcomed all of the lady competitors and thanked Harborne Golf Club and its staff for the use of their course, facilities and for making everyone so welcome. Harborne ladies Janet Underhill, Pat Sharpe and Doreen Green all helped to make the day run smoothly by helping on the desk, selling ball sweep tickets and merchandise. She also thanked Izzy Bartram and Sarah Priestman for acting as markers, especially as it was so wet.
The ball sweep raised a wonderful total of £104.00 to go towards County coaching
