Finally the sun shone at Atherstone Golf Club for the last winter alliance of the season. The course looked really inviting and was remarkably dry after all of the recent wet weather. Alan Prime, green keeper, and his staff did a wonderful job in getting the course ready for the competition.
When all of the ladies were in, Jo Beard, Lady Vice Captain, welcomed County Captain Bobbi Waugh, County President Mary Hampton and all of the competitors to the club and hoped that they had enjoyed their day.
Bobbi thanked Atherstone Golf Club and its General Manager, Clay Turvey, for making the course available and helping to arrange the event. Bobbi also thanked Atherstone ladies Jo Beard, Caroline Hastelow and Margaret Miller for helping on the registration desk, Gloria Jones and Ann Hammond for standing by as markers and Maurice Craddock who kindly acted as starter sending the ladies off with a friendly smile and joke.
A thank you was also given to Judy and Bob Broadhurst for providing the catering throughout the day. Bobbi announced that £59.00 was raised for County coaching through the generosity of the ladies who competed.
Jo Beard then presented the prizes to the winners who were Yen Pham and Di Wood from Shirley Golf Club with 36 points and runners up were Christine Marshall and Debbie Warren from Wishaw Golf Club with 35 points.
What a season! Considering the weather this winter we were extremely fortunate to hold all five of the Winter Alliance competitions for 2012 / 2013
