On the fifth and final winter alliance of the season another new winning pair with Moor Hall being triumphant.
Coventry Hearsall like many have suffered in recent weeks with the weather and ground water. Actually having the course open and an event was a miracle in its self. The efforts of the club and in particular the ground staff should be applauded by actually ensuring our competition took place.
Given the weather, carrying only was permitted and 36 ladies stepped out onto the course. Weather deteriorated during the day but to the credit of both the course and all participants, it didn’t damper the spirits of all.
The front nine proved to gather more points for the majority of teams during the Greensomes Stableford competition. Moor Hall’s pairing of their present Captain, Sarah WYNN and her playing partner Mary UPSON amassed 31 Stableford points, including a birdie on the 12th par 4.
Runners up were just a point behind with 30 were Di McCORMICK and Lynda POPE from Nuneaton.
This was the final winter alliance of the season, information on next winters alliances will be published shortly. There have been over 91 teams participate during the winter – well done ladies!
