On Monday 4th August, the Warwickshire Ladies Summer Meeting took place at Coventry Golf Club. Once again we were blessed with lots of sunshine combined with a little breeze and all competitiors enjoyed their rounds on this excellent course.
The format of the competition was pairs in Better Ball format in this Stroke Play Competition and some great scores were posted by the end of the day. The course was in excellent condition with the greens very true and the greenkeeper was thanked for presenting the course so well.
In the Summer Meeting Trophies, the pairing of Liz BROWN and Karen McKENNA carded 2 birdies and 11 pars in compiling their 66 Net, just pipping on the back 9 the runners up, Gill WINSTANLEY and Deborah PEARMAN who had 2 birdies and 10 pars - just great scoring. Caroline LASSEN, the competition organiser commented that she had the pleasure of watching the drive from Adele MIDDLETON on the 18th, which was the longest of all competitors. Lisa BARTON and Rachel RUSTED gelled so well together in taking the Gross Prize, scoring, 15 Pars, 2 Birdies and just 1 Bogey in their round.
