40 hardy souls braved the elements of wind and later heavy rain at Ingon Manor near Stratford on Monday 12 January. Despite hopes of the event being called off from some quarters, the course was open and play commenced, with no last minute withdrawals. Well done girls.
Issy BARTRAM and Sarah PRIESTMAN from Harborne romped home with a magnificent 34 points. Second were Jane JONES and Liz MOVERLEY from Copt Heath with 32 points. Commiserations to Wendy McINTYRE and Mary O”NEIL from Olton, who lost out on countback.
£48 was raised in the Ball sweep.
Sincere thanks were given by County President, Jane DENNICK to Ingon Manor for hosting the event and for making an exception to us on their Winter Wheels only policy for electric trolleys. Other thanks went to the Lady Captain of Ingon Manor, Judith STOKES and her helpers’ husband Ken, Jane REEVES and Jane CHRISFOLD.
The next Winter Alliance will be beld at Stonebridge GC on Monday 2nd February.
