WALMLEY LADIES WIN FINAL ALLIANCE OF SERIES

For the last of the current year’s Winter Alliance series held at Robin Hood Golf Club, on Monday 2nd March, the weather didn’t disappoint us and the snow came down early morning! Despite that it quickly melted away and even though further snow flurries occured, the sun came out for part of the day. The wind however was very cold and some very chilly golfers returned to the clubhouse. 44 ladies played representing 22 clubs across Warwickshire.
Margaret RILEY and Mave MENDUS from Walmley GC recorded 36 points, with a fantastic 22 points on the back 9. They won on countback from Helen PALMER and Kath TERRY from Harborne GC, who also scored 36 points but with19 points on the back 9.
Robin Hood’s Lady Captain Anne EDWARDS made everyone very welcome and she was thanked by County Captain Karen HEARN together with her other helpers from the club including the Starter for the morning John SAVAGE.
This is the last of the 6 Winter Alliances for 2014/2015 season and how lucky we were that all were able to be played. The County Captain, Karen HEARN thanked all clubs who participated in this series.
