This valuable silver cup was presented in 1897 by the late J.W. Janson of Northampton to the Leicestershire Golf Club to be played for, under handicap, by lady members of Golf Clubs in the counties of Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Warwickshire. The competition is decided annually under the rules of Medal play for 18 holes.
The competition is held on a three year cycle at Northamptonshire, Leicestershire and Warwickshire at a venue chosen by the host county - in August, during the second week.
There is a handicap index limit of 26.4 on date of entry. Players with a higher handicap index may not enter.
The trophy is won by the best net score of the day. It may not be shared. In the event of a tie, the result shall be decided by a count back on the last 9,6,3, holes etc until an outright winner can be declared. The trophy winner also takes the best net prize.
The winner is responsible for having her name engraved on the cup.
